What is a DC isolator switch?
A DC isolator switch is a manually operated switching device used to disconnect a direct-current circuit for maintenance, inspection or permitted emergency isolation. In solar PV systems, it is commonly installed between PV strings and an inverter or integrated into related DC equipment.
It is an isolation device, not a substitute for overcurrent or surge protection. Rated DC voltage, current, utilization category, poles, wiring arrangement, enclosure conditions and installation method must match the exact circuit and product documentation.
