Working Principle
The VIOX VM2-125 MCB operates using a bimetallic strip for overload protection and an electromagnetic mechanism for short-circuit protection. During an overload, the bimetallic strip heats and bends, releasing an electromechanical latch connected to the operating mechanism. This action opens the MCB contacts, interrupting the current flow. For short circuits, the electromagnetic mechanism provides rapid tripping. Manual reset is required to restore current flow after a trip.
