Qu'est-ce qu'un contacteur modulaire ?

A modular contactor is a DIN-rail switching device controlled by an electromagnetic coil. Its modular housing supports integration into distribution boards and control panels for recurring control of suitable loads.

Selection requires more than a nominal current value. Contact configuration, utilization category, load inrush, coil voltage, switching frequency, thermal conditions and protective-device coordination must be verified.

Command receivedA timer, controller or manual control applies the specified coil voltage.
Contacts change stateThe electromagnetic mechanism operates the configured contacts.
Building load controlledThe selected lighting, heating or auxiliary circuit is switched.

How to choose a modular contactor

Match the contactor to the actual load category, control supply and contact arrangement.

Load type and inrush

Lighting, heating and motor loads can require different operational ratings.

Tension de la bobine

Match the control supply from the timer, relay, controller or manual command.

Poles and contact state

Confirm the number of contacts and normally open or normally closed arrangement.

Panel conditions

Check module width, ventilation, switching frequency and protective coordination.

Define the controlled load

A modular contactor rating depends on the load category and operating duty, not only the current printed in a model name.

Modular Contactor Selection Questions

Réponses rapides pour une comparaison préliminaire des gammes de produits avant la vérification détaillée des circuits.

Where are modular contactors used?

They are commonly integrated into DIN-rail boards and panels for controlled switching of suitable lighting, heating, ventilation and auxiliary loads.

How is a modular contactor different from an industrial AC contactor?

A modular contactor uses a compact DIN-rail form suited to modular panels. Industrial contactors cover different mounting, accessory and motor-duty requirements; selection depends on the load.

Which coil voltage should be selected?

Choose the coil that matches the actual control supply. Available coil voltages vary by series.

Can one current rating be used for every load type?

No. Operational capacity depends on the load category, inrush, switching frequency and published product characteristics.

Which contact configuration is required?

Confirm poles and normally open or normally closed contacts from the control sequence and wiring design.
