Residential distribution & circuit protection

Start with the protection each circuit needs.

For panel builders, electrical contractors and distributors: organize the protection functions first, then confirm the exact devices against the supply system, loads and destination-market requirements.

Interruttore Automatico in Miniatura VOB3-63

Overload & short-circuit protection

Interruttore Automatico in Miniatura VOB3-63

Choose the current rating, tripping curve, pole configuration and breaking capacity for each circuit. An MCB does not provide residual-current protection.

Interruttore automatico a corrente residua VKL11

Protezione da corrente residua

Interruttore automatico a corrente residua VKL11

Use with coordinated overcurrent protection. Select the residual-current type for the connected equipment; Type B and EV variants are not a default requirement for every home.

RCBO tipo A/AC/ASi VRL22

Protezione combinata del circuito

RCBO tipo A/AC/ASi VRL22

Combine residual-current and overcurrent protection at the circuit level. Separating final circuits can limit disruption from a fault; continuity still depends on upstream coordination.

Protection options, not a wiring diagram or three devices to install in sequence. The supply system, loads and installation rules determine the final arrangement.

Other protection needs?

Dispositivi di protezione contro le sovratensioni address transient overvoltages; they do not replace circuit breakers. Arc fault detection devices address specified arc-fault risks where required by the project and local rules. Main isolation and load-control devices must be selected separately for their duties.

Different loads. Different checks.

A lighting circuit and an inverter-driven appliance do not present the same selection questions. Use the equipment instructions alongside the circuit design.

Lighting & socket outlets
Check design load, conductor protection, switching inrush and the required residual-current protection.
Kitchens, water heating & outdoor circuits
Confirm dedicated-circuit needs, installation conditions, isolation and the applicable electric-shock protection measures.
Air conditioning & heat pumps
Check inverter characteristics and the equipment manufacturer’s specified RCD type. Do not select from appliance power alone.
EV charging, rooftop PV & storage
Confirm the equipment’s DC residual-current detection and protection requirements. Type B or EV-specific devices are candidates only where the system requires them; AC-side protection does not specify a PV or battery DC circuit.

Bring the project details. Build a clearer product request.

Send an existing schedule or share the information below. If a value is not confirmed, flag it for review instead of selecting a rating by guesswork.

Match product standards, installation rules and market approvals to the exact model and application. Request the relevant model documents before order approval.
