What is a solar combiner box?
A solar combiner box collects the output of multiple photovoltaic strings into one or more outgoing DC circuits before connection to downstream isolation, inverter or distribution equipment.
The complete assembly may coordinate string fuses, surge protection, DC isolation, terminals and monitoring. Selection depends on array voltage, string current and count, reverse-current conditions, protection architecture, enclosure environment and cable-entry layout.
