Connection, overcurrent protection, isolation and surge protection perform different duties. Start with the system architecture, then verify each device against the maximum voltage, current, fault conditions and installation rules.

Conceptual system map—not a wiring diagram. The exact location, device type, ratings and coordination depend on the PV or storage architecture, equipment instructions and applicable installation requirements.

Battery-side DC protection is a separate design decision.

Confirm bidirectional current, maximum DC voltage, prospective fault current, isolation requirements and the battery or PCS manufacturer’s instructions before applying a PV-oriented component to a storage circuit.
